TL;DR:
What It Is: A waterproof volumizing mascara
What It Does: Adds curl and volume to lashes without any clumping
Who It's For: Anyone seeking a new everyday mascara

Although my natural hair color has darkened significantly in my three decades on this planet, my eyelashes have remained as blonde as the day I was born. That works out nicely for any Village of the Damned costumes I have planned, but on a day to day basis, I consider mascara an eye-opening must. All this is to say: I've tried a lot of mascaras, and therefore feel qualified to declare L'Oréal Paris Bambi Eyes Mascara Waterproof one of the best.

One of the most exciting things about Bambi Eyes is the so-called "wide-eye brush." It has a combination of short and long bristles, which are supposed to ensure you grab every lash – no matter its length — on each swipe. I also appreciated the tapered end that, when I rotated the brush to be vertical, further allowed me to get right into the inner and outer edges of my lashline.

These stunning selfies were taken after I applied three coats of Bambi Eyes, and there's nary a clump to be found. As you can see, this isn't going to fool anyone into thinking you're wearing falsies, which makes it perfect for days when you want your makeup to look as natural as possible. I used a lash curler before I applied the mascara, but I felt it helped keep the curl intact for way longer than usual.

I typically don't go for waterproof mascaras because I'm not prone to crying or doing watersports and, therefore, don't find the arduous removal process worth it. I wouldn't say Bambi Eyes comes off easily, but it only took a little extra cleansing balm to remove it entirely at the end of the day — no vigorous rubbing required.

Clearly, I'm not the only Allure editor to feel passionate about this mascara. It's already made its way onto plenty of Allure Best of lists (Under $20! Best Drugstore!), and now it's on the ultimate roundup: Allure Best of Beauty 2020. If you're looking for a new everyday mascara, add this under $11 tube to your cart, stat.
