When we hear a makeup brush has a waitlist of over 8,000 people after selling out within 15 minutes of being restocked, we can't help but take notice. The Alleyoop Multi-Tasker 4-in-1 Makeup Brush is in very high demand — and for good reason.
This makeup brush is, at once, four of the most essential brushes in one tool. It's doubled-ended, and you screw off the outer brushes to reveal smaller ones inside. You get one sponge for concealer and contour; one big, angled brush for contour, blush, and highlighter; one small angled brush to define brows and line the eyes; and one rounded brush for eye shadow. The sponge comes in refillable packs, and the brushes are made with synthetic hair. Plus, it comes with its own zipper pouch so you can keep it from getting too dirty.
In a video explaining how to use this multifaceted brush, Alleyoop founder Leila Kashani Manshoory calls it time- and space-saving and says the goal was to make something super-easy for folks to use. "We were excited to make this brush so that women didn't have to go through their whole bag to find the item they were looking for," she says in a video explainer on the brand's site. "If I don't know what look I want to go for later in the day, I can just take this, a blush, and brow product, and leave it in my bag to decide later."
But is it worth the hype? I admittedly am not the biggest daily makeup wearer, saving full-face looks for when I go out or on special occasions. But since self-isolating while social distancing has given me more time on my hands, I've been experimenting with makeup more and was intrigued to see just how easy this brush is to use.
